OKU House – A city within a city

A smart solution to limited space. OKU House adds 324 residential units through an innovative ‘table’ construction, in which two buildings are elevated on columns that partially extend through the structure below. This approach makes it possible to create new housing without using additional land.

OKU Office covers 6,500 m² and forms part of a broader area development. It acts as a dynamic and central focal point in Amsterdam West, located near Lelylaan Station and the A10 highway.

• 20.000 m² development area
• 324 apartments
• 600 residences

OKU Office

OKU Office is a distinctive, and self-contained building. The redevelopment of this existing office is defined by open, light-filled, and spacious floorplates.

The name OKU is derived from the Japanese word meaning ‘depth’ or ‘inner space.’ This meaning reflects the design philosophy behind the building.
