In the heart of Utrecht, Boelens de Gruyter, together with Schroders Capital, is developing ‘De Nieuwe Tuin’ for PGGM. The project’s central location and strong focus on flexibility and sustainability align well with PGGM’s ambitions.
After standing vacant for over ten years, the former Gildenkwartier is finding new purpose. De Nieuwe Tuin breathes new life into this central location, transforming it into a sustainable, future-oriented and inspiring headquarters.
Research and real-world experience show that people only return to the office when it truly adds value. Not because they have to, but because it works. De Nieuwe Tuin is a clear answer to that need: a place people genuinely enjoy coming to, where culture is strengthened and collaboration feels natural again. Not by returning to old habits, but by listening to people and looking ahead to what they need today to work and collaborate effectively.
Together with architecture firm BiermanHenket, we developed a workplace for PGGM that offers space for focus and for hybrid teams, supports well-being at work, and is designed around maximum flexibility. This is how the office regains its meaning.
PGGM’s decision to relocate to De Nieuwe Tuin marks a significant step for the organization. The central location, excellent accessibility and sustainable ambitions align perfectly with its vision for the future. Over the coming years, the transition to the new work environment will be developed in close collaboration with the PGGM team.
