About us

Boelens de Gruyter is a nationally operating property company that, since 2007, has been active in commercial real estate and residential. Our enthusiastic team has during the past few years been involved in a number of diverse projects. Specialised in city centre and complex projects, we focus on user experience and thus always develop the living and working environment both for and with the end-user. Creating efficient solutions for sustainable (re)use is a vital element in this process. Boelens de Gruyter combines a flexible, transparent and down-to-earth attitude with the experience and expertise required to bring projects to a successful close. 

Our head office is located in Amsterdam, along the Northern bank of the River IJ, offering a spectacular view of the river and appreciated for its creative, high-energy and positive atmosphere. Additionally, we have a second office in the city centre of ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

Maarten de Gruyter

Maarten de Gruyter

Maarten, born in ’sā€Hertogenbosch, grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. Indeed, Maarten started his first business at the tender age of fifteen. He studied in both Brussels and Amsterdam, where he graduated in International Business. After completing his studies, he started his career in the property sector as a developer and investor.

Besides being commercial director at Boelens de Gruyter, Maarten is chairman of DON Foundation and football club FC Den Bosch, as well as being a director of ‘Weg met Kanker’, a foundation dedicated to eradicating cancer.

Harm Boelens

Harm Boelens

Harm, born in the province of Friesland, graduated in civil engineering in Groningen in 1996. After completing his second studies in Building and Property Management at the Delft Technical University, he started his career as real estate developer. 

Backed by an extensive experience, Harm is specialised in the development of complex office and housing projects. Harm and Maarten de Gruyter are the two directors of Boelens de Gruyter.

Bob Sanders

Bob Sanders

Bob studied Technical Business Administration at the Eindhoven Technical University. After majoring in Real Estate, he joined Boelens de Gruyter as a real estate developer in 2008.

Thanks in part to his Brabant roots, Bob is responsible not only for projects in the Randstad, but also for our projects and acquisitions in the provinces of Noord-Brabant and Limburg. This explains why he can regularly be found at the office of Boelens de Gruyter in ’s Hertogenbosch.

Joëlle Lokhorst

Joëlle Lokhorst

Joëlle Lokhorst joined Boelens de Gruyter in 2013. As real estate developer, she was responsible for the development of The Student Hotel at Wibautstraat in Amsterdam, at the former Parool-Trouw building. She is currently managing a development on the other side of the street, at Wibautstraat 80, and involved with future developments at Koningin Wilhelminaplein in Amsterdam Nieuw-West.

Joëlle studied architecture at the Delft Technical University, where she graduated in the Master Real Estate & Housing.

Rogier Rombouts

Rogier Rombouts

Rogier works as a project developer at Boelens de Gruyter since September 2016. After studying Architecture at the Technical University in Delft, he has worked at Rabobank International. There he worked as a project manager for advising and investing in banks in developing countries.

in his spare time Rogier gets out in the main Hockey for Hurley in Amsterdam. It is his dream ever to be involved in the development of the Olympic Games, aiming for a sustainable legacy.

Mike van de Kar

Mike van de Kar

Mike grew up in Berkel-Enschot, North Brabant, after which he studied Architecture at the TU Eindhoven University. During his master's Real Estate Management & Development he lived and studied in Stockholm for six months.

During his master's program, Mike worked for 2 years as a real estate adviser at JLL, where he was especially involved in sales campaigns of redevelopment locations. Since October 2016, Mike has been part of the team of Boelens de Gruyter in the role of project developer. His interest is especially directed towards the (re) development of inner city locations.

Elodie de Haseth Möller

Elodie de Haseth Möller

Since December 2016, Elodie has been working as a commercial developer at Boelens de Gruyter. After the bachelor of Economics and Business Administration at the UvA, Elodie has worked as a real estate adviser at JLL. As part of the Agency Leasing Team in Amsterdam, she did the rental of office buildings as well as selling redevelopment objects. In addition to her job she completed the Master of Business Administration at the UvA.

After the 6 years of experience she has acquired as a real estate adviser, she wishes to broaden herself as part of (re) development programs at Boelens de Gruyter.

Joost Kuiper

Joost Kuiper

Mr Joost Ch. L. Kuiper has since March 2010 joined the Advisory Council of Boelens de Gruyter. Mr Kuiper is the former CEO of MeesPierson, former member of the Board of Directors of ABN AMRO and one of the former receivers of DSB Bank. He resigned as supervisory director of ING in May 2016 and has held various directorships with the Prins Bernhard Culture Fund and the Mondriaan Foundation. 

He is currently a supervisory director of IMC and has occupied various positions with a number of non-profit organisations.

 

Willem Stevens

Willem Stevens

Mr Willem F.C. Stevens has since March 2010 joined the Advisory Council of Boelens de Gruyter. Mr Stevens is the founder of Caron & Stevens (the current Baker & McKenzie), has served in the Dutch Senate on behalf of the CDA political party and was chairman of the Stevens Committee. His extensive experience includes being a supervisory director at Schiphol Airport and deputy chairman of the Concertgebouw Fund Foundation.

He is currently a supervisory director of AZL.
